About the Modern template

The Modern template splits the page in two. A dark sidebar holds your contact details, languages and featured skills with rating bars, while the main column numbers each section: profile, experience, education and licences.

It fits a lot onto one page and looks polished when printed or opened on a phone, which suits candidates with a few years of experience who want their skills to stand out at a glance.

Best for

  • Candidates with two or more jobs to show
  • Sales, hospitality and office roles
  • CVs you will email or hand in printed
  • Showing skill levels at a glance

How to use it

  1. Create a free CV Hub account - or import your existing CV to fill in your details automatically.
  2. Add your education, work experience, skills and references. Mandy can draft your About Me summary for you.
  3. Choose the Modern template under Configure CV and download your PDF.

Questions

Is a two-column CV ATS friendly?

Most modern applicant tracking systems read two-column PDFs, but some older ones read the columns out of order. If you are applying through a large online portal, the Classic or Minimal template is the safer choice.

Can I add a photo?

Yes. Your profile photo appears at the top of the sidebar. Without one, your initials are shown instead.
